Nutrition care process
(Nutrition care process includes nutrition assessment, nutrition
diagnosis, nutrition intervention, monitoring and evaluation)
Phase of Nutrition Care Process
A ANTHROPOMETRY
Anthropometry involves obtaining physical measurements of an
individual’s then relating them standard's that reflect the growth and
developments to that individual. These physical measurements are one of the
important components of nutritional assessment which is evaluating over
nutrition and under nutrition as well as monitoring the effect of nutrition
interventions.
B BIOCHEMICAL PROFILE AND BODY COMPOSITION ANALYSIS
i) Laboratory
test results provide objective data to use in the nutrition care process. These
tests are ordered only to support nutrition diagnosis and evaluating nutrition
care process as well as to determine internal biochemistry. Various parameters
of nutritional status can be measured by analysis of serum, plasma, whole
blood, urine and feces. It is possible to detect the nutrient deficiencies by
biochemical methods much before their manifestation in the form of clinical
symptoms and signs.
ii) Body
composition is a method of describing what the body is made of. It also
describes weight more accurately than BMI. Body composition is used to describe
the percentages of fat, bone, water, and muscle in human bodies. Body
composition analysis can accurately show changes in fat mass, muscle mass, and
body fat percentage.
C CLINICAL PROFILE
Our external health is also one of the important reflections of our
nutritional status. Each and every clinical sign that shows your good and poor
nutrition is considered. Eye, hair, nail, mouth and skin symptoms are among the
early outward warning signs of vitamin and mineral deficiency. Our nutrition
care process will not only help you to achieve your expectations but also
assure that you are not going to be affected by any nutritional deficiencies.
D DIETARY INTAKE
Accurate assessment of individual‘s present dietary intake is
utmost essential. Appropriate assessment techniques can detect a nutritional
deficiency in the early stages of development allowing dietary intake to be
improved through nutritional support and counseling before a more sincere
condition develops. On your first day you are provided with 3 day’s intake form
to take 72 hour’s diet record and with help of this 50+nutrient’s analysis is
done.
E ENERGY EXPENDITURE
Energy may be defined as capacity to do work. Energy expenditure
is the amount of energy person use in form of calories. Energy is expended by
the human in form of basal energy expenditure (physically and mentally at rest
in thermo neutral environment), resting energy expenditure (respiration,
circulation etc.), thermic effect of food (consumption, digestion &
absorption) and activity thermogensis (exercise or daily work). These all
components make up a person’s daily total energy expenditure. Only activity
thermogensis's data will be taken in written form, the rest will be calculated
from standard formulae.
F FOLLOW UP
Once we are done with your ABCDE phase, weekly follow ups will be
fixed. On your first follow up you will be provided with a diet chart. The diet
is based upon the patient's medical record, physical examination, functional
examination and dietary history. This Diet chart contains 7 day’s planned diet.
At the end of this diet chart you have to appear for follow up to monitoring
the effect of nutrition interventions. You can avail of phone whatsapp and
email support for all your queries. For any kind of special occasions, meals
will be planned accordingly.
G GET HEALTHY AND MAINTAIN
Medical nutrition therapy is never a day's need; it is always an
integral part of any health care system.
It can help one to live better at any age. When it comes to maintain,
it means your particular nutrient utilization should be equal to its
consumption (for example given calorie in your balanced diet chart is equal to
your calorie expenditure). Maintenance of comfort and quality of life are most
typically the goals of our nutrition care process. Keep going with learnt
healthy food habits and eating according to the given balanced diet is always
enough to maintain your achieved health status for long.
